Mykonos Magic
30/6 20:30 - Ornos bay, Mykonos - As the loungy tunes of Radio Mykonos are soothing the anchored Rinia and our own moods, I can't say anything else than: This has been a perfect day!
Today started of with sleeping late, some shopping for supplies (ice cubes!) and then, after a frappé of course, taking of for our first day of sailing.
The forecast had promised us north, 5. And as always, we were leaving port with something completely different (south, 3). But after a few miles when we rounded the southern point of Syros it turned north on us, occasionaly up to about 4 beaufort. And in the end, on entering the big 'sheltered' bay, we did measure north, 6.
We've already taken quite a hit from the sun today. AND WE SAW DOLPHINS! At least 4 of them, which were swimming with and around us just long enough to get us all excited, but short enough for us not to have any photograpic evidence. Next time we'll get them, those smart, beautiful, fun loving, fishermen saving, bastards! ;-)
Mykonos has something magical about it, as anyone who's ever been to the "Ibiza of Greece" will confirm. And Ornos bay is something special for the both of us. Those of you who were with us on our first trip 5 years ago will only partly understand why...
Now it's time for cocktails in Little Venice!
